Western Water in Rockbank and surrounds

Western Water currently provides water and sewerage services to over 5,000 residents in the the rapidly growing areas in and around Rockbank.

Precinct structure planning by the Victorian Planning Authority means the area’s population is predicted to increase to almost 20,000 by 2030. With rapid development expected, new water and sewer infrastructure is essential.

In response, Western Water’s projects involve building critical water and sewer infrastructure to service developments in Rockbank, Eynesbury and newly gazetted suburbs such as Aintree, Thornhill Park, Deanside, Fieldstone, Mount Cottrell and others.

What is Class A recycled water?

Class A is the highest quality of recycled water. It’s supplied to residential customers for non-drinking purposes such as toilet flushing, garden watering and car washing.

Western Water produces Class A recycled water from the Melton Recycled Water Plant.

Class A recycled water in Robinsons Rise

Class A recycled water is supplied to homes in some growth areas of Melton, Robinsons Rise establishment being one of them, from the Melton Recycled Water Plant.

Homes supplied with Class A recycled water have dual water supply pipes; one for drinking and a purple pipe for Class A recycled water. Class A recycled water is not subject to Permanent Water Saving Rules or water restrictions.

Class A recycled water can be used for:

  • flushing toilets
  • watering the garden, including vegetables
  • washing cars, outdoor furniture and external house cleaning
  • fire fighting
  • ornamental ponds and water features
  • clothes washing.

Class A recycled water cannot be used for:

  • drinking
  • cooking or other kitchen purposes
  • bathing and showering
  • swimming pools and spas
  • children’s water toys.
